About Me
For nearly a decade, I built my career in the restaurant industry, working my way up from entry‑level roles to kitchen management and eventually Assistant District Manager. In that role, I oversaw two locations, supported and guided general managers, and was trusted with high‑level operational decisions. I was even offered a partial ownership opportunity in a new restaurant — a reflection of the leadership, reliability, and work ethic I developed over the years. Despite that success, I always felt a pull toward technology. My interest in web development started early, thanks to my father, who is a developer and introduced me to HTML when I was young. I loved the creativity and problem‑solving involved, and that curiosity stayed with me throughout my life. I eventually formalized that interest by completing the Full‑Stack Web Developer Program at Centriq Training, where I learned MVC, C#, SQL, and ASP.NET. Although I didn’t transition into tech immediately after graduating, the passion never went away. When the right moment came, I made the decision to pivot my career. I stepped away from restaurant leadership and joined North Kansas City Hospital (now NKC Health) as an Information Technology Specialist. In this role, I’ve strengthened my technical foundation, supported complex systems, and continued refreshing my development skills — especially object‑oriented programming and SQL. Today, I’m focused on growing in the IT field, with long‑term goals of advancing into software development, application analyst, or an system administration role. I bring a unique combination of technical training, hands‑on IT experience, and years of leadership, communication, and team‑building from managing high‑pressure environments. I’m excited to continue developing my skills and contributing to a team where I can make a meaningful impact. I’d love to connect on LinkedIn and explore opportunities where my background and ongoing growth can add value.
